Reach More Customers with OpenActive

Gladstone is fully committed to working with OpenActive, to open up data stored in the Gladstone system to enable operators to connect with the OpenActive Community.  Open data includes prices, availability and location. It does not include, attendance, commercially sensitive or customer data.

By joining the OpenActive initiative operators using the Gladstone system will be able to share and publish class and facility availability with nationwide campaigns through Public Health England together with a variety of aggregators who are building interesting products, tools and experiences for consumers.  Building the data revolution in the sport and physical sector is a collaborative effort between consumers, organisations, and innovative start-ups, designed to support and benefit the industry at all levels.

How to Sign-up

It's super simple to get on board if you are running the Gladstone system in a hosted environment.  All you need to do is sign-up for a fee of £75.  We'll make the changes to your hosted system, there'll be no downtime whilst the magic happens.

You'll need to let us know your non-member public facing prices as these appear on the Change4Life portal and the OpenActive opportunity data dashboard, which lists all of the openly licensed datasets and APIs published as part of the OpenActive initiative.

Operators using the Gladstone system in an on-premise environment can also sign-up for OpenActive, however, due to increased complexity of accessing an on-premise environment, a half day of professional services time is required, if you're currently 'in-project' the PS fee can be reduced - talk to your Account Manager for a accurate quotation.

OpenActive data sharing is only available for customers on the latest Threadneedle platform.

Public Health England

“Public Health England support the use of open opportunity data to make it as simple as possible for the public to find healthy activities and get involved.  We will use open data to encourage adoption of physical activity as part of the Change4Life campaign.  Open data gives a common standard for the industry and ensures that those providing activities have a higher likelihood of finding their audience through a variety of channels. Better visibility of activities will result in more reach and more people attending their sessions. This is the next step in development for the activity sector and is hugely exciting for all concerned.”

We want to make it as easy to find and book a badminton court as it is to book a hotel room. We’re building a future where the opportunities that sport and physical activity providers offer, are no longer stuck in a single website, and can be listed in a wide range of apps and services.
